Applications Engineer – Milling / Sinker EDMElk Grove Village, Illinois (Commutable from: Chicago, Schaumburg, Des Plaines, Arlington Heights, Elgin)$70,000 - $90,000 + $5K Average Annual Bonus + Specialist Training + Career Progression + 35-Hour Week + Relocation Package + Excellent Benefits Package Are you an Operator, Machinist, Engineering Graduate, or similar, with Milling or Sinker EDM machinery experience, looking to step into an Applications Engineer role, offering specialist training and career progression? This is an excellent opportunity to move off the shop floor into a technical Applications position, receiving 6 - 9 months of training while progressing your career into senior and management roles. This company are an established manufacturer of specialist machinery with an excellent reputation within their industry. They invest heavily in employee development and offer excellent opportunities to progress into Senior, Support, and Management positions. In this role, you will specialize in either Milling or Sinker EDM machinery, running customer demonstrations, showcasing equipment capabilities, training customers, and providing technical applications support. You will diagnose application issues and help customers improve their machining processes, with up to 25% travel for customer visits and major trade shows. This role would suit an Operator, Machinist, Engineering Graduate, or similar with Milling or Sinker EDM experience, looking to progress into an Applications Engineer position with extensive specialist training.
The Role: Run Milling or Sinker EDM machinery, delivering customer demonstrations, technical support, and equipment training Diagnose application issues and help customers improve machining programs and manufacturing processes 6–9 months specialist training, Monday–Friday 9am–5pm, 35-hour week, with up to 25% travel The Person: Operator, Machinist, Applications Engineer, Maintenance Technician, or similar Experience operating Milling or Sinker EDM machineryCNC programming and 2D/3D software experience advantageous; Solid Works, Mastercam, Hyper Mill, AutoCAD, or similar
