About the role

Backend Software Engineer (Python) — Threat Intelligence & Security Platform New York, NY (Hybrid) Want your Python to protect one of the world's most critical financial platforms? A leading global financial-technology firm is hiring a backend engineer for its Threat Intelligence & Forensics team to modernize the systems that store, source, and correlate threat data across the enterprise. This is deep backend work — schema design, clean API interfaces, a company-wide IAM rollout, and a new client library that becomes the drop-in standard for security teams across the organization.
What you'll do:
  • Design database schemas and migrate to internally managed relational stores
  • Build and evolve REST APIs and middleware
  • Refactor services to consume clean APIs and shed direct DB coupling
  • Ship a new IAM-aware client library used across multiple security teams
  • Own testing (unit → e2e) and performance tuning under load
  • What you bring
  • Strong Python (the core requirement)REST APIs, relational + NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Linux + distributed systems, CI/CD, debugging, performance optimization
Bonus: Redis, Solr/OpenSearch

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
