About the role
About the Position The WatchGuard accounting team is primarily based in Seattle, WA with numerous accountants around the world supporting international operations. This position reports to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for various aspects of the general ledger, including company compliance with GAAP, policy development, and the monthly closing process.
Position Responsibilities Assist in month‑end closing of the general ledger, including preparation and recording of journal entries and review of balance sheet account reconciliations.
Ensure estimates, accruals, prepayments, reserves, and provisions are calculated and supported with appropriate basis or backup in accordance with US GAAP.
Review trial balance and financial statements for completeness and accuracy.
Ownership of fixed assets accounting.
Research accounting guidance and provide recommendation on accounting treatment and application.
Update consolidated general ledger for overseas operations.
Review financial reports produced by international bookkeepers and assist in reclaiming VAT, GST, etc.
Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA and public accounting experience preferred.
3+ years of experience with equivalent responsibilities.
Strong general accounting background, experience with month‑end close, and knowledge of US GAAP.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Team‑oriented self‑starter with good problem‑solving skills and ability to interact positively with all levels of the company.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly detail‑oriented with excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Compensation The base salary range is $90,000–$110,000 per year for full‑time employment, exclusive of benefits. Your base salary will be determined by your individual skills, education, and experience. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical in order to allow for future salary growth.
