Role Overview:
As a Senior Associate on the Executive Communications team at New York Life, you’ll help shape the voice of our senior leaders—crafting speeches, scripts, and strategic communications that reach employees, financial professionals, policy owners, and the public.
You’ll collaborate across the enterprise, translate complex strategies into clear, compelling narratives, and sharpen your skills in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. We’re looking for a thoughtful writer with strong instincts, curiosity, and a desire to grow—someone who embraces innovation, values precision, and wants to become a trusted communications advisor over time.

What You’ll Do:
Write and edit executive remarks, e-mails, video scripts, and presentations that align with business objectives and brand standards.
Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Canva) to accelerate content development and enhance creativity.
Research and validate content with subject matter experts to ensure messages are accurate, relevant, and resonant.
Shape narrative flow, tone, and visual storytelling to maximize audience impact—especially in PowerPoint.
Monitor industry news, economic signals, and policy trends to keep messaging timely and informed.
Collaborate cross-functionally to vet content, secure approvals, and align on message strategy.
Handle sensitive information with discretion, judgment, and professionalism.
Contribute to continuous improvement by refining templates, style guides, and team workflows.
Travel: Up to ~5 % to support live events when necessary.
What You’ll Bring:
4–6 years of professional writing experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field; prior support of senior executives strongly preferred.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills—samples required.
Curiosity and comfort using AI tools to support and enhance writing.
PowerPoint/Keynote fluency and a good eye for visual storytelling; experience with multimedia scripting a plus.
Strong relationship-building skills to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Interest in the insurance or financial services industry is a plus but not required.
Hybrid environment: In office Tuesday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range:$77,500-$105,000
Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
