About the role
To support a growing design team, the remote Senior Electrical Substation Designer will develop detailed physical design drawings and construction-ready documentation for medium- and high-voltage substations, manage design packages, and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key responsibilities:
Develop detailed physical design drawings and documentation for substation projects
Manage assigned design packages from early development through final review, ensuring quality and adherence to project schedules
Collaborate with electrical, civil, structural, and protection and control teams to integrate design requirements and resolve technical challengesRequired qualifications: Minimum 5 years of hands-on substation physical design experience
Strong AutoCAD proficiency and experience preparing physical design packages for substations operating between 15kV and 500kV
Solid understanding of major substation components and ability to interpret technical documentation
Working knowledge of IEEE, NESC, NEC, ANSI, and applicable engineering standards
Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical training and experience
