About the role
The Sales Manager Agriculture position supports revenue growth, market expansion, and long-term customer relationships within crop protection, seed treatment, and specialty agricultural chemical markets. This role partners with commercial, technical, marketing, and sales teams to execute strategy, manage key accounts, and identify new business opportunities. This role requires travel up to 75% of the time to include potential international travel. When not traveling the position will be remote.
Essential Functions:
Create and execute sales plans based on direction from the Global Commercial Director. Manage and grow assigned customer accounts to meet revenue, sales, and growth targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities across crop protection, seed treatment, and other agricultural market segments. Develop and communicate forecasts to support supply chain planning and customer demand. Manage account pricing to support gross profit goals and commercial objectives. Partner with technical, supply chain, product management, marketing, and commercial teams to support customer needs and sales growth. Prepare and present commercial proposals to key customer decision makers. Attend industry and association shows, meetings, and events as assigned. Monitor and report competitive activity, market trends, customer demands, and changes in market dynamics.
Role Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agronomy, or a related scientific discipline. Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks, formulation techniques, data analysis, crop science, seed treatments, biologicals, or related agricultural technologies.3–5 years of sales experience in crop protection, seed treatments, agricultural biologicals, commodity chemicals, specialty chemicals, or related markets. Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and gross profit objectives. Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, attention to detail, adaptability, and stakeholder management skills. Willingness to travel 50% or more across North America and international markets as needed. Environmental Restrictions Ability to perform essential job duties in both indoor and outdoor environments, including offices, facilities, and external job sites. Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, moving equipment, and uneven terrain. Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and operating tools or equipment as necessary to perform job responsibilities. Regular attendance and adherence to company safety policies are required.
