About the role
Kanini is seeking a hands‑on Applied AI Engineering Lead to drive high‑impact engineering initiatives and deliver AI‑powered solutions for our customers. You’ll lead design, development, and deployment across multiple projects while mentoring engineers, shaping technical standards, and using modern AI/agentic tools to accelerate delivery.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead end‑to‑end engineering: requirements, architecture, development, testing, integration, and support
- Build high‑quality, scalable solutions using modern frameworks and cloud‑native architectures
- Apply GenAI, LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and agentic engineering practices across the SDLCCreate technical specs, write clean code, and review/mentor engineers to uphold quality
- Partner with product, experience, and delivery teams to ensure customer‑aligned outcomes
- Use AI tools for code generation, testing, documentation, and rapid prototyping
- Engage with customers to understand needs and deliver the right solution at the right time
- Drive engineering standards, lean experimentation, and continuous improvement
- What You Bring6–8 years of software engineering experience across: Angular, React, NodeJS, Python, C#, .NET, Java, SQL/NoSQL2+ years building AI/ML applications (LLMs, RAG, vector DBs, prompt engineering)
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and AI services (Azure OpenAI, Bedrock, Vertex AI)
- Strong understanding of OOP/OOD, data structures, algorithms, diagrams, and modern engineering practices
- Experience with DevSecOps, Lean/XP, SRE, GitHub/ADO, SonarQube, MLflow, or agentic AI frameworks
- Ability to lead workstreams, mentor engineers, and collaborate in fast‑paced environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Ability to work onsite 3 days/week; limited sponsorship available; 0–10% travel
