About the role
- Ensure a safe work environment for self and others at all times
- Communicate with yard personnel
- Keep whole car processing area clean, well-organized, and safe
- Verify VIN against customer paperwork
- Remove and properly store mercury switches
- Drain all fluids
- Search car for any prohibited items
- Remove tires
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Able to talk and hear
- Standing, sitting, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, and grasping
- Dexterity of hands and fingers
- Lift up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist level and carry such objects for at least 30 feet
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, heat, and outside weather conditions
- The noise level in the work environment varies from loud to very loud
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and emergency communications 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Experience in scrapyard preferred but not required
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Reliable with the ability to adhere to a work schedule
