About the role
- Review project plans, specifications, scopes of work, and site conditions
- Inspect properties damaged by water, fire, storm, mold, and other losses
- Develop accurate restoration and reconstruction estimates using Xactimate and other estimating platforms
- Create detailed scopes of work
- Negotiate project pricing and scope with insurance adjusters and third-party administrators
- Perform budget analysis for restoration and reconstruction work
- Prepare proposals, change orders, supplements, and customer contracts
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and production teams to ensure successful project execution
- Conduct site visits and document project conditions through photos, measurements, and notes
- Identify opportunities to maximize project revenue while maintaining ethical estimating standards
- Track estimate accuracy and participate in post-project reviews
- Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, insurance requirements, local building codes, and industry best practices
- Support business development efforts through responsive estimating and exceptional customer service
- Assign, monitor, and support superintendent workloads
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to superintendents as needed
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial restoration, reconstruction or related construction fields
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry pricing
- Experience with estimating software preferred, but not required
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially ExcelValid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
