Senior Product Designer
myvfoNew York (NY)
About the role
Senior Product Designer MyVFO | New York tristate area or Nashville strongly preferred About MyVFOMyVFO is a virtual family office platform that brings advisors and clients together to simplify financial and life management. We connect onboarding, document management, communication, planning, and reporting in one platform, helping everyone involved stay organized and work together. We’re based in Nashville, with engineers in the New York tristate area. Candidates in either region are strongly preferred.
About the role:
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape MyVFO across mobile and web as we prepare for launch and grow. You’ll own design from understanding the problem through delivering a polished experience with our engineers. You should bring strong product thinking, excellent visual and interaction design skills, and a portfolio that demonstrates both mobile and web products. Figma should feel like a second language to you. You should also be comfortable using AI as part of your everyday creative process, from exploring ideas and generating imagery to prototyping and accelerating your workflow.
What you’ll do:
Own the design process across mobile and web, from discovery and user flows to detailed interface design, interactive prototypes, and implementation. Turn complex financial information and workflows into clear, intuitive experiences for advisors, clients, and their teams. Partner closely with product and engineering to define problems, explore solutions, prioritize improvements, and make thoughtful tradeoffs. Conduct user interviews and usability testing, and use feedback and product data to guide design decisions. Build and evolve our design system, including reusable components, interaction patterns, and documentation. Work with engineers throughout development, documenting behavior and edge cases, reviewing implementation, and refining the experience before release. Use AI tools to explore concepts, generate and refine visual assets, prototype ideas, and reduce repetitive work while maintaining a high standard of design quality.
What we’re looking for:
5+ years of product design experience, with a track record of shipping both mobile and web products. A strong portfolio across both platforms, with particular depth in web design. Your case studies should explain the problem, your contribution, key decisions, and the resulting experience. Expert fluency in Figma, including Auto Layout, components, variants, variables, shared libraries, and advanced prototyping, plus confidence with collaboration and developer handoff tools such as Fig Jam and Dev Mode. Practical experience using AI in your design workflow, including image generation and rapid exploration or prototyping. Relevant tools might include Figma’s AI capabilities, Claude Design, Higgsfield, or comparable tools. You can show examples and explain how they improved your work. Strong foundations in interaction design, information architecture, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy. A clear understanding of mobile interaction patterns, responsive web design, and accessibility. Experience collaborating directly with engineers, communicating design intent, understanding technical constraints, and following work through to release. The ability to explain your decisions, give and receive constructive feedback, and move work forward independently in a growing team.
Nice to have:
A degree or formal education in product design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, visual communication, or a related discipline. Experience designing fintech, wealth management, advisor tools, or complex SaaS products. Experience using Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or other agentic coding tools to build functional prototypes or working products. Products, apps, or side projects you have designed, built, and launched yourself. Familiarity with front-end development and how design systems translate into reusable code. Why join MyVFOYou’ll help shape a platform at an early stage, with direct influence on the product experience and the design practices behind it. You’ll work closely with engineers and help make complex financial and life management tasks easier for the people using MyVFO.
How to apply:
Apply with your resume and portfolio, including examples of both mobile and web product work. We’d also welcome examples of how you use AI in your design process and links to any products or prototypes you’ve built.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
