About the role

Our client in the Seattle area is a part of a leading design and Manufacturer of Aerospace Products and is looking for a Purchasing and Sales Engineer for a contract or direct position. Keltia Design Inc. is a technical support services company providing Aerospace Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace industry in WA and CA, and other locations around the US and Canada. We have been in business for nearly 20 years in the US and over 8 years in Europe. Purchasing and Sales Engineer - Aerospace - June 2020Essential Responsibilities:Develop mutually beneficial supplier partnerships, which may include site visits, reoccurring performance meetings and hosting supplier visits. Assist in the identification of suppliers to meet the specified product requirements. Discuss feasibility, supplier capacity, specifications and other factors related to supplier selection and order placement. Acquire and maintain detailed knowledge of supply chain in an organized database. Set MRP parameters for items affected by sourcing projects; and follow up with suppliers to assure on-time delivery utilizing existing systems. Collaborate with our plant Quality Engineers to perform or assist in supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards world class performance. Utilize project management tools to manage and communicate sourcing project statuses to larger teams. Achieve material cost reduction through value engineering and supply chain optimization. Ensure early supplier involvement in the product development process. Understand and follow all SOP's for the purchasing area. Analyze and follow continuous process improvement principles for work flow ordering and receiving of goods and services Assist in bench marking of material, labor and energy indexes and trends which affect pricing models Assist and Support other employees, teams and sales personnel as necessary. Ability to coordinate cross functional teams (R&D, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality) to achieve project timing completion and value add. Update material pricing in MRP systems as needed EducationBachelor's degree in a technical discipline, supply chain management, business or related field or equivalent education and related training. Key SkillsMinimum 5 years related work experience (Relevant experience in supply chain highly desired) Experience working on project-based initiatives High degree of communication is a must. Will have frequent communication with staff, corporate staff and throughout the supply chain.
