Description:
Company Background Alta Forest Products, in collaboration with Itochu Building Products, proudly stands as the world's largest producer of wood fence boards. Our specialization lies in Western Red Cedar and other premium species from the Pacific and Inland Northwest forests. In addition to manufacturing fence boards and pallet stock lumber, Alta's advanced sawmills operate with zero wood waste, efficiently producing valuable by-products such as wood chips, sawdust, mulch, and biofuel.
Headquartered in centrally located Chehalis, Washington, Alta operates fence board sawmills, reload facilities, and log yards in Pacific Northwest rural communities.
The Role:
Alta Forest Products is seeking a driven and analytical sales professional to help grow and manage strategic retail relationships. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining customer engagement, business analysis, and problem-solving to drive results. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and internal teams to support sales growth, inventory planning, operational excellence, and long-term account development.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned retail and distribution customers.
Identify opportunities to increase sales, improve market share, and strengthen customer partnerships.
Analyze sales performance, inventory trends, customer demand, and market conditions to support business decisions.
Collaborate with operations, planning, logistics, and leadership teams to deliver outstanding customer service.
Monitor customer performance against established goals and key performance indicators.
Support forecasting, inventory planning, and replenishment activities to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.
Learn and utilize business systems, including Infor M3 and customer-facing platforms such as Vendor Drill, Askuity, IDM, and related technologies.
Prepare reports, presentations, and business reviews for both customers and internal stakeholders.
Represent Alta Forest Products with professionalism, integrity, and a customer-focused mindset.
Participate in customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
Travel as needed to support customer relationships and business growth.
Perform other duties as assigned.

You likely have:
3-7 years of experience in business-to-business sales, account management, customer success, business development, or a related commercial role.
Experience building and maintaining professional customer relationships.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into actionable business insights.
Experience working with spreadsheets, reporting tools, CRM platforms, or business systems.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

A demonstrated desire to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility.
The ability to travel up to 20%.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Communications, or a related field.
Experience in manufacturing, wood products, building materials, home improvement, industrial products, or related industries.
Experience supporting large retail, distribution, or contractor-focused customers.
Experience with ERP systems, CRM software, forecasting, inventory management, or sales analytics tools.
Understanding of pricing strategies, margin management, and business planning.
Work Environment:
This role works in a variety of environments, including professional office settings, manufacturing facilities, customer locations, and industry events.
Employees may occasionally be exposed to manufacturing equipment, elevated noise levels, airborne particles, temperature fluctuations, and outdoor weather conditions while visiting operational facilities.
This position is based in Chehalis, Washington, with some hybrid flexibility based on business needs.

Position Type/Travel/Schedule This position is exempt per FLSA guidelines and not eligible for overtime. A typical schedule requires the ability to work 40 hours a week. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends to accommodate critical goals and objectives may be necessary. Travel for this position may be required as work demands up to 20%.

Pay Range:
$85,500 - $125,000+ per year (starting wage will be dependent on qualifications and experience
