Position Summary: MPA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on assigned King Air and DHC-8 aircraft using approved technical data and company procedures. They document work in CAMP and aircraft records and support aircraft availability. They may coordinate the work of contracted specialists and verify work within their assigned authority. This is an OCONUS rotational assignment in the Pacific area of responsibility. The position reports administratively to AIRTEC at 44144 Airport Road, Hangar AA, California, MD 20619. The assigned operating location will be specified before deployment. The operating environment may involve austere conditions. The anticipated rotation is 90 days on assignment followed by 90 days off, subject to mission needs. Travel days, training, and work at 2W6 will be addressed in the assignment terms. The daily rate includes the overseas differential.
Essential Functions: Completes aircraft and engine maintenance as required or needed. Follows established and normal aviation safety procedures and processes. Maintain complete and accurate CAMP entries, aircraft records, and return-to-service documentation within assigned authority. Conducts scheduled inspections and completes follow-up as required. Inspects engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurized sections, brakes, valves, pumps, air-conditioning systems and other aircraft related systems. Complete necessary maintenance and repairs (replacements) on the aircraft, its subsystems, and components. Repairs sheet metal or composite surfaces and assemblies. Inspect for and correct corrosion, distortion, and cracks in aircraft structures in accordance with applicable approved instructions and directives. Troubleshoot aircraft systems as needed. Keeps a clean and orderly work area. Inventory assigned toolboxes and maintain a current tool inventory. Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours. Maintain professionalism at all times. Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports. Coordinates contracted specialist work as assigned.
Skills Required: Working knowledge of applicable FAA standards. Attention to detail and ability to complete required reports on a timely basis. Ability to work in a collegial manner with Company employees, vendors, and customers. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Skills Preferred King Air or DHC-8 experience; avionics and ISR systems experience.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience. FAA issued Airframe & Powerplant Certification. Certifications for specific aircraft may also be required. Possess and maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work. Ability to successfully pass a drug test. Travel Travel and rotational deployment throughout the United States and locations outside of the United States, including austere locations, is required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a variety of physical conditions, including austere conditions. Ability to wear a respirator or other required safety equipment. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
