About the role
- Shape earned media strategy across multiple accounts
- Develop PR strategies aligned to client goals, campaign themes and business objectives
- Build national and trade media relationships
- Secure high-value placements based on client goals
- Advise clients on positioning, narrative and timing as it relates to earned media, partnering with our Strategic Account Managers who own overall marketing strategy while you own communications direction
- Interact with industry-specific media like those in water and mainstream outlets
- Translate technical subject matter into compelling public narratives

- Develop annual and quarterly PR strategies aligned to client growth goals
- Identify high-value story angles aligned with thought leadership positioning
- Guide media-facing narrative development across funding rounds, partnerships, industry trends, launches and regulatory shifts Advise clients directly in meetings with confidence and authority
- Shift accounts away from low-impact output toward strategic earned visibility2 // Media Relations & Placement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Water trade media
- Environmental and infrastructure outlets
- Business and mainstream publications (when relevant)
- Vertical industry outlets
- Lead proactive pitching strategies
- Secure tiered coverage with measurable value
- Expand and maintain segmented media lists
- Identify speaking, awards and contributor opportunities3 // Content & Narrative Development
- 5+ years of experience in public relations or strategic communications
- Demonstrated success securing earned media in both industry and mainstream publications
- Experience pitching business, infrastructure, environmental or technology stories
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment
- Strong executive presence in client-facing settings
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into compelling narratives
- Experience using Muck Rack or similar media tools
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
