Location: Polkton, NC

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Department Manager
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Position Overview:
Southern Fabricators is seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team through our Working Parent opportunity. This position offers a consistent schedule designed to help employees balance work and family responsibilities while supporting operations in our metal fabrication shop. Employees in this role will assemble parts, inspect their work for quality, and maintain a safe and organized workspace. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
Responsibilities:
Assemble parts according to work instructions and supervisor guidance. Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and correctly. Check parts for proper fit, alignment, and completeness. Inspect completed assemblies and report defects or issues to the supervisor. Handle and organize parts and materials needed for assembly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Work cooperatively with team members to meet production and quality expectations. Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality. Complete additional assigned tasks as needed to support operations.
Qualifications:
Ability to consistently work Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Dependable transportation to and from work. Strong attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow instructions and learn assembly procedures. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to perform tasks involving standing, bending, repetitive movements, and lifting up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation. Team-oriented attitude and effective communication skills. Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in assembly, manufacturing, or a metal fabrication environment. Familiarity with hand tools and power tools. Experience following written work instructions or assembly diagrams.
