About the role
Description:
Make Lives Better, Build Your Future: Join The Heritage at Sagewood as a Driver/Maintenance Assistant! At Heritage Communities, you're more than your title - you're a vital part of a team that truly values every contribution. Whether you're just getting started or looking to grow in your career, we offer a workplace where you're supported, appreciated, and empowered to thrive as you improve the lives of others in our senior living communities.
What You'll Do:
As a Driver/Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a hands-on role in improving the lives of our residents by: Safely transporting residents to various locations via company car, van, or bus, coordinating pick-ups and drop-offs with them, and maintaining accurate vehicle records. Completing scheduled maintenance and repairs for buildings and grounds, such as painting, carpet cleaning, and snow/debris removal from walkways. Performing apartment reconditioning tasks, including fixture installation and general repairs. Maintaining all areas of the community to the highest standard, ensuring proper record-keeping for work orders, certifications, and scheduling. Assisting in safety preparedness of associates and residents, participating in Safety Committee Meetings, fire drills, and other emergency exercises.
Requirements
What We're Looking For:
1+ year of experience in maintenance, minor repairs, painting, and grounds upkeep, with the ability to operate applicable tools and equipment. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (Chauffer's license is required in the state of Iowa). Compassionate communication and teamwork skills. Current CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
