Construction InspectorBKF is hiring an ON CALL Construction Inspector to execute onsite construction inspections to ensure the project is being constructed in compliance with the contract requirements and applicable permits.
Responsibilities: General Inspects and reports on a variety of construction projects Advises Resident Engineer or Agency Project Manager and informs contractors of any variances from approved plans and specifications Takes samples of materials, prepares test specimens, and assist in conducting field tests, or refers samples for laboratory analysis Checks the location of public utilities to avoid interference with construction work Checks roadway/slope/structure grades, flow lines, and locations of structures Reviews contractor's traffic control plans and field traffic control; review project safety Inspects earthwork grading, placement of asphalt concrete, proportions, and control of mixes Inspects delivery, placing, and curing of concrete and the placing of reinforcing steel Assists PM in review of project submittals, RFI's, CCO'sVerifies acceptability of material incorporated into the project by Certificates of Compliance, shop drawings, test reports Maintains material and inspection records Maintains a daily diary, photo log, contract item quantities Other duties as assigned
