MP is rapidly evolving from a materials producer into a leading U.S. manufacturer—and our people are driving that Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician will ensure process and product quality standards are being achieved through chemical and physical analytical techniques. This is a rare opportunity to have an early role in implementing manufacturing test methods for a greenfield advanced manufacturing facility that is helping to define the future of American manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technician with experience in a complex 24/7 industrial operation. The position will report to a QA/QC Manager.
Position Responsibilities: Operate laboratory analytical equipment including some combination of ICP, LECO, XRF, XRD, SEM, optical microscopes, dimensional analysis and magnetometry. Review and record analytical results in LIMS/ testing method development, assessment, validation, and roll-out under guidance of the Technology team. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory in tracking and maintaining the chemical inventory. Perform lab housekeeping and routine inspections. Perform routine statistical analysis (SQC) on quality in Gage R&R and other measurement system assessments. Actively participate in Kaizen events, safety programs, and adhere to all appropriate laboratory safety and operations procedures. Maintain safe work practices. Participate in Process Hazard Analysis procedures and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
Basic Qualifications: Aptitude and experience with chemical testing techniques and or Associate Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or other relevant science or engineering field. Availability to rotate shifts to accommodate our 24/7 manufacturing with computers, data entry, and analysis. At least 1 year of lab experience.
