About the role
Movement Search and Delivery is working with a leading global aerospace manufacturer in Grand Rapids, Michigan to identify and evaluate a Plant Controller.
About the Role:
This Plant Controller is the on-site finance partner to the Plant Manager, with a strong dotted line to the business unit. You will own the plant financial agenda—forecasting, analysis, capital, and controls—while directing Accounting, Procurement, and Information Systems. The work sits on the shop floor as much as in the numbers: you will set performance targets, influence cap-ex with a full business case, and turn data into decisions that move quality, delivery, inventory, and profit. This is a high-visibility seat for a controller who can tell the story behind the P&L and develop the people who deliver it.
What You Will Do:
Partner with plant leadership to set and drive targets for quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory, and profitability Forecast, plan, and analyze results; translate data into a clear story that guides decisions Lead the capital appropriation process and post-project reviews; hold investments to the original business case Direct Accounting, Procurement, and Information Systems so manufacturing systems and reporting stay tight and audit-ready Own financial reporting, SOX/internal controls, and compliance with company and business unit requirements Supervise, coach, and develop the plant finance team What You Need to Succeed: BS in Business, Finance, or Accounting and 5+ years of financial/controllership experience Manufacturing finance background; plant controller experience in a $150M+ facility is strongly preferred Strong cost accounting (multi-level routing and BOM), analysis, and decision-making skills Advanced Excel and Power Point; Oracle, Hyperion, or similar systems a plus; MBA, CMA, and/or CPA preferred Legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available About Movement Search and Delivery: MOVEMENT is a national executive search firm that connects companies with exceptional talent across engineering, manufacturing, finance, supply chain, information technology, sales, legal, and human resources.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
