This person can sit out of Chicago, New York, or Kansas City | Hybrid (4 days onsite)Day to Day: We're seeking a hands-on Network Engineering leader to manage and mentor a team of engineers supporting one of the world's most demanding low-latency trading environments. This role combines people leadership, technical strategy, and project execution. You'll oversee the design, performance, and evolution of a global network infrastructure that supports mission-critical financial systems where reliability, speed, and stability are essential. What You'll Do:
Lead and develop a team of 6 Network Engineers across the Americas Drive network architecture, modernization, and strategic infrastructure projects Represent Network Engineering in cross-functional project meetings Partner with security, operations, cloud, and application teams Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex networking issues Support automation initiatives that improve scalability and operational efficiency Help define networking standards, best practices, and future technology direction
Desired Skills and Experience:
10+ years of Network Engineering experience 3+ years leading engineering teams or technical staff Strong enterprise and data center networking background Deep expertise with: BGPOSPFMPLSVXLANMulticast (PIM)WAN routing and switching Experience designing highly available, mission-critical environments Hands-on network automation experience using Python and APIsStrong project leadership and stakeholder management skills Preferred Experience in financial services, capital markets, trading, or high-frequency trading environments Experience with low-latency network design and optimization Knowledge of Arista, Cisco, and Juniper networking platforms Experience with: Ansible Net Box Grafana PrometheusCCIE or other advanced networking certifications
