Role Description:
The Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Carlsbad, CA. In this position, the technician installs, maintains, and repairs residential and commercial HVAC systems, ensuring proper operation and energy efficiency. Daily tasks include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine and preventive maintenance, and completing service calls in a safe and organized manner. The technician communicates clearly with customers about findings, recommendations, and service options, while documenting work performed according to company standards. This role also involves adhering to all relevant codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
Strong focus on Customer Satisfaction, including clear communication, professionalism, and respectful service. Demonstrated Troubleshooting ability for HVAC systems, including diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and performance issues. Knowledge of Maintenance & Repair practices for heating and air conditioning equipment, including component replacement and system adjustments. Experience with Preventive Maintenance tasks, such as inspections, cleaning, and performance checks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. EPA certification for handling refrigerants, with adherence to applicable environmental regulations and best practices. Understanding of HVAC principles, system components, and common industry tools; trade school or technical training in HVAC is preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders; strong attention to detail and safety. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and capability to work in varying weather conditions and perform moderate physical labor. Prior field experience as an HVAC technician or apprentice is beneficial; willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
