About the role

CoVerica is a premier, employee-owned independent insurance agency with over 40 years of history, and we're actively expanding across the Dallas-Fort Worth market. We're looking for a Director of Sales - P&C to work directly with our President/CEO and Chief Development Officer, driving strategic growth across Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Property & Casualty, and other niche lines. At its core, this is a player-coach role: you'll train and cultivate both our Commercial Lines producer team and our Personal Lines sales team, and your success is measured by the production and effectiveness you help each team build, all while continuing to carry your own book. A Little Bit About CoVerica Recognized as a Top 10 DFW Fastest Growing Property & Casualty Insurance Agency by the Dallas Business Journal. In business for over 40 years, with an in-place succession plan to remain independent for the next 40. Part of the national SIAA network, representing nearly $12.5 billion in insurance premium together. Why CoVerica? Because you shouldn't have to choose between the resources of a national carrier and the culture of a true independent. At CoVerica, you get both: The market access, carrier relationships, and technology of a premier, growing agency with over 40 years of history. The agility, autonomy, and true sense of ownership that only an independent, employee-owned firm can offer. A team that lives by two simple rules: we treat others as ourselves, and we do the right thing, even when it hurts. You’ll have the market access and carrier relationships of an established agency, combined with the autonomy to build your own Commercial Lines practice and lead both the Commercial and Personal Lines teams growing alongside you. What You’ll Do Coaching & Sales Leadership Collaborate directly with the President/CEO and Chief Development Officer on strategic sales initiatives that exceed Commercial Lines retention and revenue targets. Develop, implement, and oversee sales and marketing strategies for Commercial Lines, Property & Casualty, and other niche products, in partnership with Client Service leaders and existing carrier partners. Train, coach, and develop a team of Commercial Lines producers from onboarding through full production. Your success in this position is measured by the production and revenue growth you help them achieve, not just your own book. Set clear production goals and KPIs for each producer, and provide hands‑on coaching, ride‑alongs, and ongoing performance feedback to help them hit and exceed those targets. Build a strong team environment and culture of accountability, developing relationships with producers, employees, key clients, carriers, and industry partners as the team's production grows. A Player‑Coach for Two Teams Serve as the hands‑on player‑coach for both the Commercial Lines producer team and the Personal Lines sales team, dividing your coaching time and attention between the two based on where each team needs support to grow. Tailor your coaching approach to each team's distinct sales motion: Commercial Lines’ longer, relationship‑driven sales cycle versus Personal Lines’ higher‑volume, faster‑turn process. Set team‑specific production goals, KPIs, and development plans for both Commercial and Personal Lines producers, tracking each team's growth and effectiveness separately while aligning both to CoVerica's overall revenue targets. Navigate the day‑to‑day rhythm of leading two teams, including ride‑alongs, one‑on‑ones, pipeline reviews, and performance feedback, while continuing to carry and grow your own Commercial Lines book and modeling the behaviors you coach into both teams. New Business Development Prospect and develop new Commercial Lines opportunities with business owners, CFOs, risk managers, and executive teams. Generate qualified leads through outbound activity, referrals, centers of influence, and agency marketing campaigns. Conduct discovery meetings to understand client goals around risk management, coverage, loss control, and total cost of risk. Present and sell customized commercial insurance programs (Property, General Liability, Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, and specialty lines) aligned to client objectives and budgets. Meet or exceed new business revenue targets for Commercial Lines. Marketing & Performance Analytics Oversee multi‑channel Commercial Lines marketing initiatives, including digital marketing, advertising, events, and sponsorships, to build visibility and generate leads. Analyze sales and marketing performance metrics, including lead generation, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs, to identify opportunities for optimization. Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to shape sales strategy and product offerings. Develop and manage sales forecasts and reporting to track performance against targets. Stay current on industry regulations, insurtech, and emerging market trends across commercial P&C lines. What You’ll Bring Active Texas General Lines Property & Casualty License (required). Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Insurance/Risk Management, Marketing, or a related field. 5+ years of Commercial Lines / P&C sales experience. Demonstrated success building a strong Commercial Lines book of business from the ground up. This is proof of concept that you can do it yourself before you lead others to do the same. 5-10 years of sales management, coaching, or producer development experience. Experience coaching or supporting a Personal Lines sales team, in addition to Commercial Lines, is a plus. Advanced knowledge of commercial insurance sales, account underwriting, and agency operations. Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a proven track record of developing producers and growing team production. A genuine desire to lead a team and mentor others. You measure your own success by how far you help someone else go, not just your own production. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Industry certifications and designations (CIC, CPCU, CRM) are a plus. Experience with AMS360 and/or Salesforce Connect is a plus. What You Can Expect From CoVerica Medical, dental, vision, life, and long‑term disability insurance added at no cost to you. Competitive base salary of $220,000 to $230,000, plus incentive compensation tied to individual and team production. Paid time off and bonus potential. Gym/fitness facility with employee keycard access. College loan repayment and tuition reimbursement programs. Team‑building activities and a genuinely collaborative culture. If you're a producing sales leader who thrives on coaching and developing others, and you measure success by the production you help your team build and not just your own, we'd love to hear from you inside a growing, employee‑owned agency. #J-18808-Ljbffr

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
