The successful candidate will bring substantive experience with property, liability, workers' compensation, or comparable commercial insurance programs and will understand underwriting, exposure evaluation, coverage, risk transfer, contributions, renewals, loss trends, risk pooling, and risk financing. Experience in a public entity risk pool, JPA, self-insured program, or governmental insurance environment is highly desirable.
What You’ll Do: Lead and developa team of six, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional member service. Lead the underwriting functionfor JPIA’s Property, Liability, and Workers’ Compensation Programs, including underwriting strategy, exposure evaluation, contributions, renewals, coverage, risk transfer, and program performance. Direct and evaluate brokers, reinsurers, consultants, and technical partners, ensuring strong performance, cost-effectiveness, contractual compliance, and overall program value. Build trusted relationships with member agenciesand represent the P&C Programs with executive leadership, governing boards, and committees through clear presentations, recommendations, consultation, and proactive communication.
