About the role

Position Summary: We're looking for a driven Commercial Account Manager to grow and manage a book of shipper relationships for Blackrock Logistics freight brokerage. You'll be the primary point of contact for assigned accounts — understanding their shipping needs, securing competitive capacity, resolving issues in real time, and identifying opportunities to expand volume and lane coverage. This is a high-visibility role that blends relationship management, negotiation, and operational problem-solving in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Own and grow a portfolio of shipper accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day service and strategic planning
  • Build pricing strategies and rate proposals in coordination with carrier sales and pricing teams
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with shippers to protect margin while remaining competitive
  • Partner with the carrier/capacity team to ensure reliable coverage on customer lanes, especially during volume spikes or capacity crunches
  • Monitor shipment performance (on-time pickup/delivery, tracking, documentation) and proactively resolve service issues
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts (new lanes, modes, services)
  • Prepare and present quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with account performance data, market insights, and growth plans
  • Track account activity, opportunities, and communication in the CRM/TMSStay current on freight market trends, capacity conditions, and fuel/rate fluctuations to advise customers effectively
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, pricing, carrier sales, and billing to ensure smooth execution

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
