Overview: Tantor Media, a division of RBmedia, is one of the largest audio book publishers in the World. Tantor Media has over 20 years of experience in the audio market. Tantor Media currently has an opening for a Casting Assistant. The Casting Assistant must be able to conduct work in the state of CT including out of the Tantor Media headquarters in Old Saybrook, CT. This is a hybrid position based in the state of Connecticut. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business. Thisisafull-timenon-exemptposition(40hoursweekly)andwillreportdirectlytotheDirector of Production. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to) 50% of time: Assist casting and schedule narrators (independent contractors) utilizing manuscripts, internal support systems, narrator skills, internal feedback, and consumer reviews. Castto determined budgetaryobjectivesper Casting Director’sapproval andguidance. Coordinate casting approvals with publisher network and acquisition team. Utilize creative and diplomatic solutions to difficult projects, escalating to Casting Director when necessary 50% of time: Assist Director of Production with administrative duties, including but not limited to database entry and supporting the narration invoice process.
Qualifications: 4-year degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or other related fields or experience in audiobook/publishing field IntermediateknowledgeofMicrosoftOffice(Word, Excel, Outlook) Experienceintheareasofprojectsupport, productioncoordination, orrelatedadministrativefields Motivatedself-starterwithaconstantdesiretomeetandexceedgoals Abilitytoworkindependentlyandeffectivelywithinternaldepartmentsandexternalcontacts(narrators, publishers, industry professionals), using diplomacy and creative solutions when problem-solving Abilitytoworkeffectivelyinadeadlinedrivenenvironmentandtoadapttochangingpriorities Strongfocusandmultitaskingability, includingabilitytositandreadfromacomputerscreen for 8 consecutive hours per day Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
