About the role
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Tennis Pro to join our prestigious country club in Highlands, NC. The ideal candidate will have a passion for tennis, experience teaching players of all skill levels, and the ability to provide exceptional lessons in a friendly and professional environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide private and group tennis lessons to members of all ages and skill levels.
Organize and run tennis clinics, drills, and events at the country club.
Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere on the courts.
Assist with court maintenance and scheduling as needed.
Work flexible hours to accommodate member availability, including weekends and evenings.
Promote tennis programs and encourage member participation.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Tennis Pro or instructor, preferably in a country club setting.
Strong knowledge of tennis techniques, rules, and strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt lessons to suit individual member needs and skill levels.
Flexible schedule and willingness to work varied hours.
Certification from a recognized tennis organization is a plus.
Physical Demands/Work Environment Frequent standing, walking, running, bending, reaching, twisting, and other repetitive movements associated with tennis instruction and play.
Frequent use of the arms, shoulders, wrists, and hands for demonstrating strokes, serving, feeding balls, and other instructional activities.
Ability to remain on one's feet for extended periods while teaching lessons, clinics, camps, tournaments, and other tennis programs.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or move tennis equipment, ball baskets, teaching aids, court equipment, supplies, and similar items weighing up to approximately 25–50 pounds.
Ability to retrieve tennis balls and equipment, including frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including direct sunlight, heat, humidity, cold, wind, and light rain.
Exposure to seasonal temperature fluctuations and prolonged periods outdoors.
Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight.
Potential exposure to wet or slippery court surfaces and uneven walking surfaces.
Exposure to dust, pollen, insects, and other conditions commonly associated with outdoor recreational facilities.
Ability to perform physical activity in warm and humid conditions while maintaining appropriate hydration and taking reasonable heat-safety precautions.
Ability to communicate clearly with members, guests, students, and coworkers in an active environment where surrounding noise may be present.
Work may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on lessons, tournaments, events, weather, and operational needs.
