HR Director – Global Hedge Fund
mondrian alphaNew York (NY)
About the role
Mondrian Alpha has been mandated by a highly successful, global hedge fund to hire an HR Director into its New York office.
This is a newly created and business-critical position, representing the firm's most senior HR hire in the US. Working in a very lean HR function day one, with continued growth planned across the region, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to buildout a broader team around them, whilst partnering closely with senior leadership and an established global HR team.
The remit will initially be extremely broad, combining strategic HR business partnering with responsibility for developing the infrastructure, processes and people strategy required to support a growing US business. The hire will work closely with senior stakeholders on organisational design, talent, performance, employee relations, compensation and broader people initiatives, whilst helping to shape what the HR function looks like as the business scales.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR business partner who has operated at a senior level within a high-performance environment. Hedge fund, asset management, proprietary trading or IB backgrounds are preferred, although we will consider individuals from other sophisticated, fast-paced organisations.
This is a rare opportunity to join a leading global investment firm in a genuinely formative HR position, combining significant autonomy and senior stakeholder exposure with the opportunity to build a function rather than inherit an established model.
The financial component on offer is also extremely attractive.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
