Role Description: The Entry Writer at MBS Logistics is a full-time, remote role responsible for preparing and submitting accurate customs entries and related documentation for imported and exported goods. This role involves reviewing commercial invoices and shipping documents, classifying products according to applicable tariff codes, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations and client instructions. The Entry Writer will communicate with internal teams, customs brokers, and clients to resolve documentation issues, obtain missing information, and clarify requirements. Daily tasks include data entry into internal systems, monitoring entry status, updating records, and supporting the resolution of customs holds or delays. The role also includes maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications: Knowledge of customs entry procedures, import/export documentation, and basic international trade regulations. Strong data entry skills, with high accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents. Ability to interpret and apply tariff classifications, duty rates, and regulatory requirements for various commodities. Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with clients, carriers, and internal teams. Proficiency with office software and logistics or customs platforms (e.g., spreadsheets, data management tools, or brokerage systems).Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple entries and deadlines in a remote environment. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while following established procedures. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics, international business, or a related field is an advantage. Prior experience in logistics, customs brokerage, or a similar documentation-focused role is preferred but not mandatory.
