About the role
The Superintendent of Schools serves as the district's chief executive officer, providing innovative and ethical leadership to advance student achievement and organizational excellence. Reporting directly to the Board of Education, the Superintendent oversees instructional programs, personnel, finances, and district operations, ensuring compliance with all state and federal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in implementing Board policies and district initiatives
- Serve as the primary advisor to the Board of Education
- Oversee district budgeting, financial stewardship, and long-range planning
- Lead instructional improvement and district-wide strategic initiatives
- Foster positive relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing public education
- Qualified Candidates Will DemonstrateA Master's degree in Educational Leadership or Administration (Doctorate preferred)
- Valid Kansas Superintendent licensure or eligibility
- Successful leadership experience as a superintendent or assistant superintendent
- Strong knowledge of school finance, budgeting, and resource management
- Experience in strategic planning, organizational leadership, and program evaluation
- A student-centered approach focused on the success of every learner
