About the role

Acorn Village is hiring for the position of Assistant Teacher/Lead Teacher Work in nature in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley with children ages 2-7.We provide on the job training. If you love working with children and being outside, we want to talk to you!

The Ideal Candidate: (not required):Would have training and at least 2 years experience working in early childhood education Would have knowledge of local flora and fauna Would have knowledge of the Waldorf educational philosophy Would be able to play an instrument Would speak Spanish

Qualifications: Position Requires most of the following: Some experience working with children between the ages of 2-7 years old Comfortable being outdoors in all weather Comfortable interacting with nature including holding insects, sitting on the ground, getting wet and muddy Willingness to participate in trainings relevant to forest schools Willingness to increase knowledge of naturalist and native skills Physical ability to hike up to two miles daily, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs.
