About the role

Position: Business Development Manager reporting to the VP of Customer Success at a premier 3PL that specializes in dedicated on-site management, managed transportation, and specialty transportation solutions for complex supply chain challenges—strengthening our position as a trusted supply chain provider. The role of Business Development Manager is a pipeline-generation role focused on identifying, prospecting, and closing dedicated and outsourced transportation opportunities from cold and warm leads. This is an outbound-driven position for someone energized by opening doors, breaking into new accounts, and consistently building a pipeline from scratch across a broad range of transportation and logistics service lines. Positioned under the VP of Customer Success in a prominent asset-based 3PL, the BDM will independently prospect and qualify target shippers, tailoring solutions across dry van, flatbed, tanker, and specialty segments, while working closely with Operations, Pricing, Safety, and Customer Success to structure winning proposals. The BDM's primary aim is to win new clients and expand Dupre's footprint in new markets and segments, not to service or grow existing book-of-business relationships once won. Owns the entire customer acquisition cycle, from target list development and outbound prospecting through qualification, solution design, proposal preparation and presentation, contract negotiation to close, contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. The challenge is to consistently generate and close new business across Dupre's core and specialty service offerings. Background Required: Proven track record of generating and closing new business (5+ years) in transportation, logistics, or supply chain services (Yard Management Services, Private Fleet Conversions, Inbound/Outbound freight utilized in manufacturing of products, Recovery Logistics).Demonstrated success with high-volume outbound prospecting, cold calling, and self-sourced pipeline development, rather than working inherited or inbound leads. History of consistently breaking into new accounts and closing complex, contract-based transportation solutions from a standing start. Working knowledge of multiple transportation modes and equipment types (dry van, flatbed, tanker, refrigerated, intermodal, etc.).Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret pro formas, rate structures, and margin analysis. Disciplined use of CRM tools to build, track, and forecast a self-generated sales pipeline. Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce or similar CRM).Residence: Field-Based / Remote.
Travel: Up to 50%Background Preferred:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field Dedicated transportation operations experience Experience across specialty segments (Bulk, Tank, Van, Pneumatic, Flatbed)CRM Tools (i.e., Salesforce.com) Other essential abilities and skills: Competitive, entrepreneurial drive with a genuine preference for new-business pursuit over ongoing account care Good communicator at all levels Results-oriented with a sense of urgency and accountability Strong cross-functional collaboration (Operations, Pricing, Safety, Legal, Customer Success) Commitment to safety and Dupre's core values

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
