About the role
Redstone Commodity Search are working with a major global trading firm looking to hire an operations manager within the Steel markets to join the commercial team in Chicago.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations for domestic and international steel shipments. Oversee inventory control and ensure accurate tracking of stock levels and deliveries. Coordinate contract execution, including documentation, invoicing, and compliance with trade terms. Liaise with suppliers, customers, and logistics providers to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in steel trading operations or metals/commodities logistics. Strong knowledge of Incoterms, international shipping, and trade compliance. Proven ability to manage inventory, transportation, and vendor relationships effectively. Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; excellent organizational and communication skills.
