About the role
- Develops and enforces best practices within the Equipment Department business unit to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Identifies resources, assigns workloads, and manages schedules to ensure timely delivery of service work performed
- Monitors field and shop service repair jobs and hours including closing all work orders in a timely manner
- Manage and dispatch field/shop mechanics based on job priority, location, and technician skillset
- Ensures work is performed accurately to manufacturer recommended standards and in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Secures, analyzes and approves vendor quotes, and estimates for services, tools, parts, and supplies
- Review invoices for accuracy and dispute any discrepancies
- Bachelor's Degree in Equipment Service Management or Business Management preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience in servicing heavy equipment in the construction industry or dealership environment
- Must have and maintain a valid state issued Driver's License with driving record that meets William Charles Construction's risk management guidelines
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Proficient with computer systems as they relate to utilization of scheduling of manpower/resources, implementation of preventative maintenance programs, inventory management systems, along with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with ERP system Visa Viewpoint Preferred
- Thorough knowledge of cost tracking and equipment life cycles
- Strong commitment to safety

- Work Environment May be exposed to extreme temperatures in the field hot and cold
- May be exposed to chemicals, refuse and dirt from jobsites or equipment

- May be exposed to other risks associated with working around heavy machines, tools, and trucks
