Location: On-Site | Mission Critical Data Center Projects Duration: Contract Opportunity Compensation: $50-$75/hour + Overtime Are you an experienced electrical professional who thrives in fast-paced construction environments and enjoys seeing critical infrastructure projects come to life? Insight Global's client is seeking an Electrical Field Engineer to provide technical oversight, commissioning support, and quality assurance for large-scale data center construction projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in electrical systems, field engineering, commissioning, or construction quality who wants to play a key role in delivering reliable, high-performance mission-critical facilities.
What You'll Be Doing: Provide field oversight for electrical construction activities, installation quality, and commissioning readiness. Support commissioning, startup, testing, troubleshooting, and system validation efforts. Perform QA/QC inspections, field audits, punch walks, and issue tracking using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).Review electrical submittals, RFIs, change orders, testing reports, and technical documentation. Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with project standards and electrical specifications. Assist with equipment energization planning, operational readiness, and turnover activities. Review electrical studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, NETA, and commissioning reports. Coordinate with contractors, engineering teams, equipment vendors, utility providers, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues. Track as-built drawings, redlines, panel schedules, and project closeout documentation. Serve as a technical resource for electrical equipment installation, operation, and integrated system functionality.
Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience supporting electrical construction, field engineering, commissioning, critical infrastructure, or related projects. Experience working with medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems. Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, electrical drawings, specifications, and testing documentation. Experience performing field inspections, QA/QC reviews, contractor oversight, or commissioning activities. Working knowledge of electrical equipment including: Switchgear Protective relays SubstationsGeneratorsPower monitoring systems Associated controls and protection systems Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving capabilities.
