About the role
Position Function:
The Controller serves as a key member of the leadership team, providing financial leadership, strategic support, and operational insight to drive business performance. This role is responsible for all accounting, financial planning and analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, inventory control, financial reporting, internal controls and Corporate requests. The Controller partners closely with the President and Operations to improve profitability, support growth initiatives, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Skills/Experience Requirements:7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance within a manufacturing environmentStrong experience in standard costing, manufacturing finance, inventory accounting, physical inventories and financial analysisAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal skills and team management skillsExcellent analytical skills and experience in forecasting, budget preparation, and product costingStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesAdvanced Microsoft Office skills; Hyperion Essbase experience preferred EducationRequirements: BSBA in Finance or AccountingCPA/CMA qualified or working towards certification preferredKey Responsibilities: Financial Leadership & Business PartneringServe as a key business partner to the President by identifying financial risks, opportunities, and operational improvement initiativesReview and analyze monthly operating results, explaining variances versus budget, forecast, and prior yearTranslate financial results into actionable recommendations that improve profitability and cash generationLead financial planning activities, including the annual operating plan, monthly forecasts, strategic plans, and long-range financial plansSupport pricing decisions by providing margin analysis, cost estimates, and financial modelingPartner with operations to identify cost reduction, productivity improvement, and profitability enhancement opportunitiesRecruit, mentor, and develop accounting and finance personnelAccounting & Financial ReportingDirect all accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and Corporate requirementsOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and complete all Corporate requestsDevelop and maintain financial and operational reporting that supports management decision making and performance evaluationEnsure strong internal controls over financial reporting, fixed assets, and operational processesEnsure compliance with SOX/JSOX requirements, Corporate policies and internal/external audit requirementsPartner with the maquiladora finance team to ensure accurate reporting and inventory controlCost Accounting & Manufacturing FinanceOwn product costing, standard cost development, annual standard cost updates, and cost roll processesAnalyze and explain manufacturing variances, including material usage, purchase price variances (PPV), labor efficiency, labor rate, overhead absorption, and scrap variancesDirect all inventory control activities, including annual physical inventories, cycle counting programs, and inventory reconciliation processesEnsure the accuracy of inventory records and investigate inventory discrepancies in a timely mannerMaintain strong internal controls over inventory, fixed assets, production reporting, and financial reporting processesFull timePosting Date: 2026-09-04
