About the role

NATURE OF WORKUnder basic supervision, assists Franklin County tax payers with their personal property assessments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties. Assists tax payers both in person and over the phone; answers questions and provides information. Runs queries and reports for missing records information; verifies all information is entered accurately. Processes and files assessment forms. Opens mail; prepares outgoing mail. Assists other County offices with general questions. Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is performed in a standard office environment and involves sitting for extended periods of time, standing, walking, bending reaching, and lifting of objects up to 20 pounds. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND two (2) years of clerical or customer service experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of:
Department policies and procedures. General office practices. Customer service etiquette. Skills in: Communicating clearly both verbally and in writing. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Operating a personal computer.
