We’re looking for a hands-on, results-driven FMO Supervisor to lead railcar inspection and repair operations at one of our Field Maintenance Operation (FMO) sites. What We’re Looking For: Associate’s (AA) or Bachelor’s (BA) degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or a combination of strong mechanical expertise and prior railroad experience 1–3 years of experience in railcar repair, mechanical operations, or a related field, with leadership or supervisory responsibilities Knowledge of AAR and FRA standards is a plus Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and prioritize safety Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs
What You’ll Do: Champion Safety First Lead by example to foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, AAR, and FRA regulations. Drive Operational Excellence Oversee daily railcar inspection and repair activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Develop and Inspire Teams Train, coach, and mentor employees to build skills, improve performance, and support career growth. Lead with Accountability Manage workforce productivity, labor distribution, and site performance to meet operational and financial goals. Strengthen Employee Engagement Promote a positive work environment while ensuring compliance with HR policies and collective bargaining agreements. Manage Costs & Resources Monitor expenses and optimize labor and materials to support business objectives. Build Key Relationships Serve as a trusted point of contact for host railroads, the AAR, FRA, and internal partners.

Physical Requirements: Both general office environment with moderate noise level, and occasional outdoor environment with infrequent high noise level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit (remain stationary within work area) and use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach. The employee is occasionally required to move about (stand, walk). The employee must occasionally lift and/or transport up to 10 pounds and infrequently lift/transport over 25 pounds. Correctable vision required for close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception vision capabilities, and ability to adjust focus. Work schedules may vary depending on operational demands. Candidates must be comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
