About the role
Accentuate Staffing is working with an established precision manufacturing organization in Oxford, North Carolina to hire a Manufacturing / Industrial Engineer I. This early-career opportunity offers broad exposure to equipment, processes, tooling, and plant improvement projects that directly influence safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity. The ideal candidate has an engineering degree, practical manufacturing exposure, and a hands-on approach to data collection and problem solving. This engineer will collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, product engineering, and logistics while using tools such as AutoCAD, CAM software, analytics applications, and Microsoft Office to improve how work is performed and documented.
Responsibilities:
Support small manufacturing and logistics projects from analysis and justification through implementation, follow-up, and sustainment.
Develop or improve equipment, machinery, tooling, fixtures, automation concepts, manufacturing methods, and facility or process layouts.
Analyze safety, ergonomics, quality, cost, cycle time, material flow, and productivity opportunities using data, time studies, and root-cause methods.
Create and maintain work instructions, manufacturing routings, equipment specifications, tooling records, drawings, and revision-controlled technical documentation.
Provide technical support to production and maintenance across assembly, machining, surface treatment, warehouse, and controls-related operations as assigned.
Contribute to Lean initiatives that reduce waste, improve throughput, strengthen quality, and deliver greater customer value.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Distribution and Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Zero to three years of relevant manufacturing, industrial engineering, co-op, internship, or project experience.
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and methods such as flow, layouts, assembly, machining, and tooling.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, organization, and project-prioritization skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with AutoCAD; exposure to Esprit CAM, Qlik, CNC programming, PLC/HMI systems, or controls is preferred.
Self-directed, team-oriented work style with attention to detail, a strong safety and quality mindset, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
