About the role
This senior leader will drive revenue growth across Sports and Local businesses by developing and executing a differentiated commercial strategy that connects highly engaged audiences, premium content, sports, local markets, and advertiser demand. The role will lead the development of integrated partnerships across advertising, sponsorships, branded content, experiential activations, digital, social, video, and emerging platforms. The leader will identify and monetize high-value opportunities around major sporting events, teams, athletes, local communities, and culturally relevant moments. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Creative, Content, and Executive Leadership, this leader will build scalable commercial platforms, expand strategic accounts, develop new business opportunities, and strengthen relationships with advertisers and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the commercial strategy for Sports and Local, driving revenue growth, market expansion, new business, and strategic partnerships. Build and manage a strong pipeline of sports partnerships, sponsorships, branded content, advertising programs, and experiential opportunities. Develop and monetize opportunities around major sporting events, cultural moments, local activations, and year-round content and partnership platforms. Build executive-level relationships with advertisers, agencies, sports organizations, brands, athletes, local businesses, and strategic partners. Expand local advertising by developing scalable solutions for regional and national advertisers seeking local-market relevance. Create customized, multi-platform solutions across content, media, social, video, experiential, and audience targeting. Identify new advertiser categories, strategic account opportunities, and revenue streams to drive incremental growth and expand share of wallet. Lead high-performing sales and partnership teams with accountability for revenue, pipeline, forecasting, and commercial KPIs. Leverage audience insights, market intelligence, and performance data to improve commercial strategy, advertiser outcomes, and scalable growth models. Serve as a senior commercial leader in shaping broader business strategy and identifying opportunities for growth across markets, platforms, and audiences.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in media sales, sports partnerships, sponsorships, integrated marketing, advertising, or revenue strategy, with significant leadership experience. Proven track record of driving substantial revenue growth and building high-performing commercial organizations. Experience developing and selling large-scale sponsorships, sports partnerships, branded content, experiential programs, and integrated advertising solutions. Strong understanding of the sports media and advertising ecosystem, including teams, leagues, agencies, brands, events, and sponsorship models. Experience developing commercial programs around major sporting, cultural, or tentpole events. Strong knowledge of local advertising markets and the needs of regional and national advertisers. Experience across digital, social, video, experiential, content, and emerging media platforms. Proven ability to develop new businesses, revenue streams, and strategic partnerships. Strong financial and commercial acumen, including forecasting, pipeline management, pricing, packaging, and revenue optimization. Data-driven approach with the ability to leverage audience insights, market trends, and performance analytics to inform strategy. Exceptional executive presence, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills. Location: This role will adhere to a hybrid schedule, reporting into our New York office.
