About the role
Senior Commercial Credit OfficerA well-established community bank is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Credit Officer to join its Commercial Lending team. This position will play a key role in underwriting and managing a diverse commercial loan portfolio, with exposure to both Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) transactions. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial credit fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to work closely with commercial lenders on structuring, underwriting, and managing credit relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwrite new and existing commercial credit relationships, including CRE, C&I, commercial mortgage, and construction transactions. Partner with commercial lenders throughout the credit process, including initial deal structuring, term sheet review, underwriting, approval, and closing. Analyze borrower and guarantor financial statements, cash flow, collateral, industry conditions, and other relevant credit factors. Perform global cash-flow analysis, sensitivity analysis, stress testing, and risk-rating assessments. Prepare credit presentations for new transactions, renewals, modifications, and annual reviews. Manage ongoing credit risk within an assigned portfolio, including covenant compliance, borrowing-base calculations, collateral monitoring, and other servicing requirements. Review the work of junior credit analysts and provide underwriting and structuring guidance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum of 3 years of commercial banking experience involving underwriting, portfolio management, loan administration, and/or relationship management, with a strong emphasis on financial analysis. Formal commercial credit training or equivalent experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience underwriting CRE and C&I transactions.
