We are actively looking for passionate and talented individuals who can help us deliver on that promise.The Senior Manager of Operations Development is responsible for leading the Inspection Center Operations Development team through continuous improvement projects by proactively and effectively leveraging the Operations Development team to create and refine processes within Carvana's Inspection Center organization using lean methodologies. Additionally, this position will work closely and communicate with all departments and levels throughout the business to deliver proactive & thorough, cost and quality improvements in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment.What you'll be doing:Takes a proactive approach in assessing new continuous improvement opportunities and provides guidance to the team on appropriate courses of actionPartner with Inspection Center functional experts to create and set vehicle standards to best meet our business need and provide an exceptional customer experienceServe as a resource for the Reconditioning Training team when developing content regarding work processes, standards, etc.Responsible for maintaining a strategic roadmap of Operations Development goals and team structure, and career developmentActs as a key thought partner to Inspection Center senior leadership on problem solving initiativesReview and provide guidance on Operations Development justification for major projects, with a cost savings greater than $1M within Inspection Center operationsSupport team in obtaining buy-in on major projects through effective communication with multiple departments across the organizationDeliver cost reductions on time and under budget on major projects, and effectively report out on results to Senior LeadershipProactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement by developing standard work and visual training within existing processesServe as a cross-functional business partner across the organization to provide direction on the creation of labor standards and line staffing modelsCreates strong working relationships within all levels of the organizationProvides coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members in order to drive resultsEnsure compliance with all environmental, health and safety guidelinesLive the Carvana valuesOther duties as assignedWhat you should have:BS in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (MBA preferred)Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a lean manufacturing environmentAt least 3 years of experience managing cross-functional teams or projects (Ideally with direct reports)Proven track record of implementing successful projects that impact the bottom lineKnowledge and understanding of lean manufacturingGeneral knowledge of OHSA guidelinesWillingness to travel between Carvana facilities across the U.S, as projects requireValid driver's licenseA clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI's in the last three yearsExcellent communications skills to all levels of the organization, oral and writtenAbility to work through teams to achieve resultsStrong analysis and decision making abilityExcellent facilitation skills through engagement, diplomacy and diverse opinionsAbility to work independently as well cross-functionally in a team settingProficient computer skills including AutoCAD, Excel, WordWhat we'll offer in return:Full-Time Position with a competitive salaryMedical, Dental, and Vision benefits401K with company matchA multitude of perks including student loan payments, discounts on vehicles, benefits for your pets, and much moreA great wellness program to keep you healthy and happy, both physically and mentallyAccess to opportunities to expand your skillset and share your knowledge with others across the organizationA company culture of promotions from within, with a start-up atmosphere allowing for varied and rapid career developmentA seat in one of the fastest-growing companies in the countryOther requirements:Must be able to read, write, speak and understand EnglishMust be at least 18 years of ageMust have a valid driver's licenseA clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI's in the last three yearsMay be requested to work overtime and weekends for special programs and eventsMust be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levelsMust be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feetRequires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenanceRequires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterityRequires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipmentOf course, we'll make any reasonable accommodations for those with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their jobs.Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.
