Job Description
About the Opportunity: The Wage Attachment Specialist II is responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and processing court-ordered wage garnishments and other involuntary payroll deductions. This role requires strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
What You'll Do: Review, interpret, and process wage garnishment orders, including child support, tax levies, creditor garnishments, and bankruptcy orders. Accurately index, enter, and maintain garnishment records within payroll and case management systems. Respond to inquiries from clients, employees, courts, attorneys, and government agencies regarding garnishment orders and payroll deductions. Investigate and resolve complex issues using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Manage assigned workloads efficiently while consistently meeting departmental KPIs, productivity standards, and client SLAs. Identify risks, processing errors, and compliance concerns; perform root cause analysis and escalate issues as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve customer and operational issues. Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and client information. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Skills: /Qualifications - Required Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Strong customer service and relationship management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Experience working with confidential information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel.
Qualifications: Preferred 2+ years of payroll, garnishment, legal document processing, banking operations, or related experience preferred. Payroll processing experience. Wage garnishment or wage attachment processing experience. Experience interpreting legal documents, court orders, or compliance-related documentation. Experience working in a metrics-driven, high-volume processing environment.
