About the role
- A portfolio of engagements, not one at a time, but simultaneously. You are responsible for all phases of the audit, review, and compilation engagements assigned to you, from planning through issuance.
- Final technical review before sign-off, covering workpapers, financial statements, footnote disclosures, and reports. What leaves your desk should require minimal changes above you.
- Developing seniors, which is the highest-leverage thing you do. Coaching them on review, on running a job, and on managing staff of their own, plus written performance evaluations and honest feedback in real time.
- Supervision of seniors and staff, including reviewing their work, matching people to engagements that fit their qualifications, and knowing your team well enough to staff a job correctly.
- Technical judgment on the questions that get escalated to you: reserve fund matters, unusual or non-routine transactions, going concern indicators, related parties, and disclosure adequacy. You resolve them or bring a recommendation to a superior.
- Engagement economics, including budgets, realization, and flagging a scope or fee problem early enough that it can still be addressed.
- Client relationships, serving as the escalation contact, ensuring your staff is communicating progress and issues. Also, presenting audit results to boards and committees as necessary.
- Anticipating problems before they surface. You are expected to know which engagements are at risk and to raise them before a deadline is in question.
- Keeping firm leadership informed of significant developments in your engagements, with an analysis and a recommended course of action.
- Post-fieldwork wrap-up, clearing quality control and review notes thoroughly and on time.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
