About the role

Operator I / IIThis position is responsible for performing skilled duties in the operation of a wastewater treatment plant. Duties involve routine inspection of plant processes and equipment and work under general supervision. Advancement opportunities include Operator, Chief, Operator, Senior, and Operator III.Operator I salary: Start $20.31- $26.41 per hour, DOQ.Operator II salary: $22.39 - $29.11 per hour, DOQ, Requires Class C Wastewater Operator license. Shift differential pay: Second shift: + $2.00 - 3.00 per hour.
Benefits package includes: 192 hours of PTO, employer paid health and life insurance, employer funded pension plan, tuition reimbursement, and wellness program. Essential duties and responsibilities include monitoring plant operations, making process adjustments, monitoring mechanical equipment, observing and adjusting project flows and treatment process conditions, taking samples and interpreting data, maintaining good communications, observing safety guidelines, and performing other duties as assigned. Supervisory responsibilities include not providing work leadership or full personnel management to any employees. Financial responsibility may include ordering supplies and/or equipment as directed by supervisor. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, ability to make responsible decisions, ability to interpret complex test results, ability to communicate essential information, ability to perform utility calculations, receiving regular instructions, and passing a physical and physical ability assessment specific to this position. Working conditions include exposure to adverse weather, odor, noise, chemical hazards, gases and dust, standing for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down several flights of stairs, climbing and descending ladders, working at heights, and working in tight or confined spaces. Tools and equipment include hand tools, broom, sample collectors, flow meters, high pressure hoses, field meters, test kits, lab equipment, Authority vehicles, general and/or specialized material handling equipment. Subject to the use of respirators, SCBA's, PPE and other safety equipment as required. Treatment Plant Location: 908 Bells Chapel Road, Waxahachie TX
