Position Details: Under general supervision of the school principal or designee. Performs clerical work dealing with textbook ordering, inventory, dissemination, accounting, loss textbook retrieval and recordkeeping; operates and services textbook inventory equipment; supervises and trains students and student workers.
Essential Functions: Typical Duties Textbook Ordering: under the direction of the school principal or designee, working with the department chair to place order of textbooks and supplemental books for students. Receipt and issuance of textbooks: bar-coding of textbooks received after ordering; issue and receive textbooks to/from teachers; post records of students and teachers in receipt of textbooks; notify borrower of overdue and loss textbooks/materials; conduct follow-up activities to retrieve textbooks from teachers and students. Maintenance of textbooks: maintaining an inventory of all textbooks and supplemental texts; contact vendors to re-surface cover of textbooks. Equipment Operation: typing of requisitions, memos, records, book cards and pockets, book orders; Training: training teachers and students in textbook processes including check in/out. Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and one year experience in textbook procedures.
