The organization is committed to serving the Nacogdoches community with integrity and care.Role Description The Front Desk Assistant is a part-time, on-site role based in Nacogdoches, TX. This role manages the reception area, welcomes visitors, answers and routes phone calls, and responds to general inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Day-to-day tasks include scheduling appointments, maintaining attendance records, organizing participant files, and supporting staff with basic administrative assistance such as photocopying, filing, and data entry. The Front Desk Assistant helps coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, assists with event logistics and classroom setup, and ensures that common areas remain tidy and well-stocked. This role also provides clear communication to participants, staff, and volunteers, helping them access information, resources, and support efficiently.QualificationsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact respectfully with participants, staff, volunteers, and visitors from diverse backgrounds.Professional phone etiquette and communication skills, including clear spoken and written communication.Experience with administrative assistance and receptionist duties, such as scheduling, recordkeeping, and managing correspondence.Basic computer proficiency (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets) and comfort learning new office software or databases.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy front desk environment.Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in an office, nonprofit, or educational setting is beneficial.Alignment with the organization’s mission and values, and the ability to contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment.
