About the role
Professional Search Group (PSG) is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our clients accounting team and take ownership of the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of approximately 3–4 properties. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the full cycle accounting for your assigned properties and work closely with internal teams, property managers, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Handle full cycle accounting for a portfolio of 3–4 properties Prepare monthly financial statements and property-level financial reports Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activity Assist with month-end and year-end close Review property expenses and maintain accurate general ledger activity Assist with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis as needed Work with property management teams to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies Maintain accurate and organized accounting records Assist with audits and other accounting projects as needed
Qualifications:
2+ years of accounting experience Property accounting or real estate accounting experience preferred Experience with full cycle accounting and month-end close Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations Strong Excel skills Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accountant who is comfortable taking ownership of their assigned properties from day-to-day transactions through month-end close and financial reporting. Someone with experience in property management, commercial real estate, multifamily, or other real estate accounting environments would be a strong fit.
