About the role

Position: Manual Machinist Industry: Manufacturing Employment Type: Full-Time Pay: Based on Experience We are seeking an experienced and dependable Manual Machinist to join a manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating manual machining equipment and be able to produce precision parts according to blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities: Operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and other machining equipment. Set up and operate machines to produce precision parts and components. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining specifications. Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices. Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required specifications. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measuring tools. Perform turning, milling, drilling, boring, threading, and other machining operations. Make machine adjustments to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances. Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on machining equipment. Maintain accurate measurements and production records. Inspect work throughout the machining process to identify defects or dimensional issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
Qualifications: Previous experience as a Manual Machinist required. Strong understanding of manual machining processes and equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Experience using precision measuring equipment. Strong knowledge of machining tolerances and dimensions. Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail. Ability to perform basic shop math and measurements. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving skills. Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
Preferred Skills: Experience machining steel, aluminum, stainless steel, or other metals. Experience working with tight tolerances. Knowledge of tooling and cutting speeds/feeds. Welding or fabrication experience is a plus. Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
