Job Summary:
A CNC Lathe Operator in the hydraulic and pneumatic seals industry is a highly skilled manufacturing professional responsible for the precise and efficient production of seals and related components using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe machines. This role is critical for ensuring the high quality, tight tolerances, and custom specifications required for hydraulic sealing applications.
Key responsibilities and duties typically include:
Machine Setup and Operation: Setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathe machines to cut, turn, and shape various materials (e.g., rubber, HPU, PTFE, Viton) into hydraulic and pneumatic seals according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications. This includes loading programs, selecting and installing tooling, and adjusting machine offsets.
Precision Machining: Monitoring the machining process to ensure parts meet exacting dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements, which are crucial for the proper functioning of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Quality Control and Inspection: Ensure product quality by performing thorough in-process and final inspections with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers). This verifies strict adherence to specifications and identifies defects, guaranteeing only flawless parts are released for shipment.
Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation: Reading and accurately interpreting complex technical drawings, blueprints, and G-code to understand product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identifying and resolving basic machine issues, such as tool wear, material inconsistencies, or minor machine malfunctions, and performing routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance and minimize downtime.
Material Handling: Safely loading and unloading raw materials and finished parts from the CNC lathe. Properly dispose of waste materials and chips.
Safety and Housekeeping: Adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current

Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
