About the role
Overview HRIS Workday Team Lead responsible for supporting the maintenance and ongoing development of the Workday Platform, including all HR aspects such as Compensation, Learning, Talent, Recruiting, Time, Absence, Payroll, and Benefits for a 3,000+ member team. Work closely with the HRIS Workday Manager and mentor the HRIS team, guiding daily work and participating in hands-on Workday configuration and development. Partner with HR stakeholders across the Bank to identify gaps and enhancement opportunities in the Workday tenant. The HRIS Workday Team Lead will provide technical guidance and peer review of Workday configurations and enhancements before production release. Opportunities for professional development and engaging projects are provided. While Workday administration is the primary focus, there is also opportunity to support other HR platforms such as HiredScore, Kainos, and ServiceNow. Responsibilities Support the HRIS Workday Manager in maintaining optimal function of the Workday HRIS, including documentation, testing, and development of Workday applications. Provide subject matter expertise on Workday best practices and use cases; partner with HR leadership and IT to develop strategies to optimize operations. Take ownership of tickets assigned to the HRIS team. Collaborate with leadership and HR staff to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommend and implement solutions. Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS team members. Apply configuration knowledge to solutions with attention to capabilities, features, and functionality. Lead the review, testing, and implementation of bi-annual Workday releases; assess impact, participate in regression testing, and communicate changes/benefits to end users. Lead the implementation and maintenance of integrations, EIB processing management, and bi-annual Workday release management. Document and develop business requirements and technical designs. Lead AI HR Automation design and strategy. Assist with data governance processes. Qualifications 6+ years of related experience in Workday HRIS Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Advanced experience with Workday or HRIS concepts, architecture, and infrastructure. Advanced knowledge of regulatory and legal compliance obligations, including audit and SOX compliance. Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills. One or more Workday certifications preferred: HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Recruiting, Learning, Benefits, or Security. Advanced experience in HRIS strategy and roadmap planning. Expertise in designing and building AI-powered automation preferred. Experience leading Workday Extend solutions preferred. Occasional travel required. Compensation Salary range for new hires is generally $159,745.00 – $197,331.66 for Chicago, IL. Salary is determined by location. The role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives and restricted stock.
